Everything You Need to Know About Our App Discontinuation

On April 14, 2020, we announced that we'll be discontinuing our app. We know that big changes are never easy. Our customers and users have been instrumental to our growth as a company, and we want to make sure that you're taken care of throughout this process. 

The app will continue to be available to all existing users until July 14, 2020, and our Customer Success Team is here for you as we make this transition together.

We've answered some FAQs to help shed some light on what this change means for you, your account, and your data.

 

What's Next for Chata? 

Here at Chata, we're dedicated to our vision of a future where humans can interact with computers the same way they interact with other humans. In a modern world where data is increasingly important for doing great business, we saw an opportunity to revolutionize the way people interface with and access their databases. We launched our app in 2017 as a first step towards bringing this vision to fruition.

Over the last few months, our team has been working hard on the development and launch of our new conversational AI solution for software providers, AutoQL. The innovation and market response to this offering has been more successful than we could have anticipated. With AutoQL, we will be able to seamlessly integrate our conversational AI technology into other software solutions that users are already leveraging to do better business. 

In an effort to bring the power of conversational AI to business leaders and their teams, Chata will be focusing exclusively on further developing AutoQL into a robust solution that allows anyone to get the answers they need from their data, just by asking for them.

FAQs About Our App Discontinuation

When will the app be available until?

The app will be available for all current users and customers, free of charge, until July 14, 2020.

Customers with Premium subscriptions will continue to have full access to the app's Premium features including Data Chat, Dashboards, Templates and Reports. 

Users without Premium subscriptions will continue to have access to Data Chat, but will no longer have the option to upgrade to Premium. 

You will no longer be able to add new users or connect new data sources. 

What will happen to my account?

You can continue to use both our web and mobile app as usual until July 14, 2020. All of the features that you currently have access to will remain available to you until then, but you will not be able to upgrade or add new data sources. 

Be sure to export, download, or screenshot any Reports or Dashboards you wish to retain prior to July 14, 2020. At that time, all accounts and all associated data will be completely deleted from our system including any Reports or Dashboards you have made.

I haven't used Chata in a while, how will I be affected?

If you're returning to the app and find any issues accessing a previously connected data source, simply refresh access by re-adding your data source and continue to use the app as usual, if you wish, until July 14, 2020. 

If you do not want to return to the app, your account will be deleted automatically at that time without any further action required from you.

What should I do if I have clients connected to Chata?

All client accounts will be retained until July 14, 2020 (unless cancelled by the account owner), but no new clients can be added.  

If you have connected client files and added your client as a user, they will receive direct notice of the app discontinuation from Chata.

We encourage  you to ommunicate directly with your clients about this change and work together to determine next steps.

I have an annual subscription, will I be reimbursed for the remaining months?

Yes,  absolutely. Your prorated reimbursement will be issued within the week of April 14th. You do not need to contact us in order to receive your reimbursement. 

Please note: Reimbursements may take up to 10 business days to be processed once they have been issued, so you can expect to see your prorated reimbursement by May 1, 2020. 

If you do not receive your reimbursement by May 1, you may need to contact your bank or credit card company. Please contact support@chata.ai for assistance. 

You will be able to use the app as usual, free of charge, until July 14, 2020.

I have a monthly subscription, do I have to continue to pay?

No, all payments will stop immediately on April 14, 2020. 


You can continue to use the app as usual (including all previously paid features), free of charge, until July 14, 2020.

I just signed up for a free trail, what will happen when my trial ends?

During your free trial, you will have access to our Premium features. When your trial ends, you will not have the option to upgrade your account.

At that time,  should you wish to do so, you can continue to use Data Chat, free of charge, until July 14, 2020

Will technical support still be available?

Our Partner Slack channel will no longer be available.
